Celebrating Our Community: 2024 Year in Review

As we close out 2024, we reflect on an incredible year of growth, connection, and impact. Thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, the generosity of our donors, and the active participation of our community members, Ubuntu Legacy Community Care has touched more lives than ever before.

**By the Numbers: Our 2024 Impact**

This year, we're proud to share these milestones:

- **250+ seniors served** through our various programs

- **100+ workshops and events** hosted throughout the year

- **35+ dedicated volunteers** contributing thousands of hours

- **7 new partnerships** with local organizations and healthcare providers

- **$50,000+ raised** to support our programs and services

**Program Highlights**

**Community Education Program**

Our health education workshops reached record attendance this year. Topics included medication management, fraud prevention, nutrition, chronic disease management, and navigating the healthcare system. Participants reported increased confidence in managing their health and making informed decisions.

**Health & Wellness Outreach**

We expanded our wellness activities to include weekly yoga classes, monthly nature walks, stress management sessions, and holistic health workshops. These programs have helped combat social isolation while promoting physical and mental well-being.

**Intergenerational Programs**

Our intergenerational cooking classes and storytelling sessions created meaningful connections between seniors and youth. These programs preserve cultural heritage while building bridges across generations—truly embodying the Ubuntu philosophy.

**New Initiatives Launched in 2024**

This year, we introduced several new programs based on community feedback:

- Monthly cultural celebrations featuring Caribbean traditions, music, and cuisine

- Technology literacy workshops to help seniors stay connected with family

- Caregiver support groups providing resources and community for family caregivers

- Partnership with Black Youth Farming Collective for gardening and nutrition programs

- Amica Credit Mills for facility access and sponsorship

- Real Healthy Haven for wellness program collaboration

- Federation of Black Canadians for cultural programming

**Volunteer Spotlight**

Our volunteers are the heart of Ubuntu Legacy. This year, 35+ dedicated individuals contributed their time, skills, and passion to make our programs possible. From workshop facilitators to event coordinators, from tech support to kitchen helpers—each volunteer plays a vital role in our community.

Special recognition goes to our long-term volunteers who have been with us since our founding, providing continuity, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to our mission.
